I’m Abhinav, and it’s a pleasure to meet you virtually.
Here’s a little about me:
When I was 10 years old, my parents gave me my first Yashica film camera. From the moment I received it, I knew I would never put it down. To practice, I photographed my sisters, family, and friends. By the time I was 15, I had started capturing families, birthday celebrations, children, and babies.
In 2009, I moved to Edmonton to pursue my Master’s in Computer Science at the University of Alberta. During my time in school, I actively engaged with INDSA (Indian Students Association), regularly capturing moments from their performances and events. This felt like the perfect opportunity to dip my toes into the lifestyle photography industry. What began as a hobby (and a side gig) eventually blossomed into Photography by Abhinav.
Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing landscapes, portraits, themed concepts, family moments, engagements, and weddings—each with its own unique charm. It wouldn’t be wrong to say I’m a Canon guy; I truly appreciate the colors and compositions that Canon cameras deliver—they feel so authentic. Along with my gear, I’m fortunate to collaborate with amazing clients across Edmonton and beyond.
